Family, landscape and memory are significant motif’s in my work, my painting is about visual memory. In painting, I have always been attracted to the formal interaction between ideas, image and mark making. For me the act of painting is a visceral experience.

My work is about recovery, using both images from old family photographs and images taken from the present.

In my more recent work, I am working on a series of photographs which look at medication and treatment.

I think that it is important to be able to draw influences from a variety of sources and make work which is diverse.
